August Bryan/College Station Update
From City Team Leader Kellie:
We have been so thankful for a “Sabbath” month in College Station. The Lord has been continuously refreshing me this month and igniting more passion and zeal for our work! Specifically, I have been meditating and praying Isaiah 35:10 over JSL and Bryan/ College Station.
“And the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with singing; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.”
This month, I would like to partner with you in prayer. As you read these, please whisper a few words to the Lord about JSL, our team, our women, and our impact.
Me in my role with JSL:Pray for continued favor and open doors in this community. Pray that funding would come in for this upcoming year. Pray God would continue to give me fresh vision and fresh faith for this ministry.
Our Team: Pray that we would represent Isaiah 35 in a tangible and real way. Pray that joy would come overflowing through us and would touch each woman we come in contact with. Pray that we would continue to choose joy in our day to day work even amidst difficult and trying circumstances.
Our Dancers: Pray that Isaiah 35:10 would be their reality. Pray that they would choose to give Jesus their full hearts and lives. Pray that as they do this, they would have courage to make positive life changes for themselves and for their families. Pray that joy would be their constant companion as they allow themselves to be wholly transformed by God. Pray that God would fill their needs emotionally, financially, and physically and, as they find their sustainment is in Him alone, that temporary sorrow and sighing would flee.
Our City: Pray that the Church in Bryan/College Station would be revived and awakened to the needs of the world around us. May we not be consumed by our “church bubbles,” but rather have eyes to see the hurt and brokenness around us. May we walk in courage, step into the messes and the hardships in our community, and be used as carriers of hope and joy. Pray that we would see Bryan/College Station revitalized and transformed fully by the Kingdom of God!
One girl named Lizzie: Pray that God would open doors for her to be able to leave the lifestyle in the commercial sex industry. She has felt stuck in for a long time, but she is now giving her heart to God. The Lord is healing her and growing deep trust in Him. Pray for a community of believers to to surround her and her family. Pray that this community can begin to walk with them in an authentic and honest way.
