ABOUT US

Lovely Village is a community of healing for survivors of sexual exploitation, trauma and trafficking and their children through avenues of community, commerce and creativity. We provide prevention and education resources as well as outreach, safe housing, holistic, long term direct services, creative arts, job training, and employment. Lovely Village offers two years of free community housing, livable wage employment and holistic, trauma-informed care within a walkable, safe community to increase the socio-economic capacity of survivors and their children. 
Lovely Village, formerly known as Jesus Said Love, has a strong community presence with innovative, well-connected founders with a 20 year history of reaching women in the commercial sex industry.


JOB SUMMARY

Lovely’s  COO will be the architect and conductor of our operational excellence, ensuring Lovely Village scales strategically over the next two years,  grows sustainably, and runs efficiently with optimal impact. The COO  will partner closely with the CEO & CIO (co-founders) to analyze, define and execute strategic goals, optimize our internal systems and processes, and lead a team of talented, mission-driven individuals to deliver impactful programs with sustainable outcomes. A successful candidate will be results-oriented, innovative and analytical with a drive for change. Lovely Village’s COO will need to manage multiple priorities independently, while designing and implementing high-quality systems that will ensure our operational success. Strong leadership and control of these processes will be required, from beginning to end. Since Lovely is building a new residential program, the job centers around implementing existing models of care from sister organizations and adapting the program to meet our unique needs. Analyzing and improving on existing systems and technology will be crucial. The broad scope of the job demands a factual, direct and authoritative style of communication.

KEY RESULTS AREAS

  1. Strategic Leadership

    • Collaborate with the CEO and CIO to finalize the “Theory of Change” for Lovely Village programing in order to develop and execute strategic plans for scalable, sustainable growth and outcomes.
    • Identify and implement opportunities for innovation and operational efficiency.
  2. Operational Oversight

    • Implement and improve organizational processes to maximize effectiveness and impact.
    • Lead and supervise a collaborative and high-performing team that prioritizes employee engagement and development.
    • Establish internal processes for data-collection standards & communication rhythms for reporting to internal and external stakeholders. 
    • Develop strong internal controls for how/when/where data is stored & reported and begin executing.
  3. Program Development

    • Work closely with program managers to design, implement, and evaluate initiatives aimed at preventing and addressing sexual exploitation, trauma and trafficking.
    • Identify clear & measurable “indicators of success” in neighbors lives through “Program Tracker”.
    • Clarify target numbers, dosage of activities, and duration of Lovely programming/activities that track to hoped-for outcomes.
    • Oversee effective data collection, procurement and assimilation of information in grant applications and fundraising initiatives ensuring integrity and viability. 
    • Oversee the effectiveness of programs (outreach, education/prevention, case management, commerce and residential) keeping team members and tasks focused and deadlines met.
  4. Financial Management

    • Oversee budgeting and financial planning to ensure the prudent and effective use of funds.
    • Develop MVP internal controls/written processes for financial management and reporting to internal stakeholders.
    • Work with the CEO and CIO to develop  strategies for sustainable funding and support the founders to diversify revenue streams.
  5. Risk Management

    • Identify potential risks and implement measures to mitigate them, ensuring compliance with legal, ethical and regulatory requirements.


Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years successful Senior level leadership experience in a nonprofit or social impact sector.
  • Proven track record of success in scaling, leading and transforming complex organizations.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Passion for social justice and commitment to ethical, diverse and inclusive leadership.
  • Excellent conflict management skills.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Lovely Village.
