A New Home on the Horizon

October 31 marks twelve years since Emily and I moved into our first home. In the backyard stood a tiny little guest house, which my father quickly counseled us to raze. I, however, had high hopes for that little house…and over the years it has held countless hours of dreaming, praying, failing, serving and creating.

Originally, I had envisioned a music studio or a place for weary travelers. It has indeed been those things...but above all, our tiny guest house has functioned as the main office for Jesus Said Love.

Next to the guest bed? Stacks of T-shirts...our “Love Store.” The living room? Piles of notebooks, grant proposals, and dancer files. It was in this small space that we stuffed our first outreach gift bags and have hosted everyone from dancers to pastors. I’m glad I went against my dad on that one...that tiny house has been a guest house of love.

Needless to say, JSL has outgrown this small house. After 11 years and expansion to five cities, our team needs more than a cramped backyard guest house. Many of you have been praying with us over the last year for a new Jesus Said Love headquarters.

I am beyond excited and humbled to announce that God has raised up a donor to contribute $200,000 to our building campaign. Thank you, Jesus! This money will buy the building we’ve been praying about...we close this Thursday!

As you may recall, the total building campaign goal was $300,00: 200k for the property and 100K for renovations. What once was a daunting mountain of $300k has now eroded to a “hill” of $100k by the grace and generosity of God through his people. Now, we are focusing on cresting this last hill. We would like to meet this remaining goal by the end of the year!

Will you pray with us in light of this final leg of the building journey? We cannot wait to move JSL into a new space. This building will serve dancers all over Texas as they transition out of the industry. We will be able to provide job training, parenting classes, and so much more.

God is doing big things. Together, we have the opportunity to awaken hope and empower change in the lives of many more women and their families.

Will you consider joining us in this movement to awaken hope and empower change?

Grateful,

Brett Mills | Jesus Said Love

PS: You can join the building effort with a gift of any size. If every person who receives this email made a one-time donation of $59, we would hit the goal!
